Little Kicks

This winter, Clare had her turn at Little Kicks!  Since Clare's group was younger than when Sean was at Little Kicks, the classes were more parent-involved but that was fine - Clare liked going each week and playing with Mommy or Daddy.  While Clare played soccer, Sean usually ran laps around the gym, which meant both kids would take a nice long nap after Little Kicks :-)

Clare practiced her listening skills and learned a few soccer basics. During the last class, they played with a parachute! After each class she got a patch and got to climb the bleachers to have her water and a snack!

Pop Pop Pop

When you've run out of stickers and you need a few minutes to entertain the kids before dinner, bubble wrap is always an option:

Last Weekend

As I write this, we've had two days of cold, cold weather AGAIN and it's snowing AGAIN!! We've had some good spring-like weekends, though. Let's think back to last weekend when we hit the beach to play in the sand:

This Weekend

We started out the weekend with pajama day at daycare and a trip to Rita's (or Rhoda's as Sean calls it) for an end-of-week treat:

Then we played outside on the driveway with sidewalk chalk and bikes:

Saturday was a warm, breezy Spring-ish day and we spent the morning outside - soccer, baseball, basketball, bubbles and we even tried to fly a kite!  During a potty break for Sean, Clare mugged for some photos:

"Take a picture of my back!"
After the kids both took nice long naps, we took them to the "big playground":

On Sunday, the kids had a dance party:

They spent a chilly Sunday indoors playing board games, learning about Super Mario Brothers, and doing puzzles and playing legos!

And they played kitchen!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a happy St. Patrick's Day, even though it snowed ... again! We got to spend Sunday at the beach after having a yummy dinner in Manahawkin on Saturday night.  On Monday, Clare's class had a little party and Clare got to have a "chocolate and green cupcake!!" Meanwhile, over in Seany's class, a naughty leprechaun had visited, spilling gold glitter all over the floor, turning over chairs, and ... turning the toilet water green!! The kids rocked their green t-shirts:

Tonight

Tonight it was raining instead of snowing. The snow on our lawn is almost all gone!

Tonight we went to the library after school and got a whole bunch of new books, including a new "Star Wars" book for Sean and a Princess Jasmine book for Clare!

Tonight everyone ate their dinners all up without any tears!

Tonight we drew pictures of each other making silly faces... and then we made silly faces at each other!

Tonight the kids sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" together so sweetly, I clapped and cheered extra-loud. Then they asked if they could make a video of themselves singing:

Tonight Sean showed that he can really croon:

Tonight Clare pretended to be shy... but just for a minute!

Tonight, after the kids were tucked in, I went downstairs to set out to write this blog post when I heard some commotion on the upstairs landing. Sean and Clare were out of bed and rummaging through a box of books Grummy gave to us a few years ago.  After a few minutes of listening to pages flipping and hushed voices, I heard Sean cough, then Clare exclaimed, "Seany - you have to cover your mouth when you cough!"  Then Sean said, "Sssssssshhhhhhhhh!" to Clare loudly and added "Mommy will hear you!"  That was my cue to go to the bottom of the stairs and say, "Well, I need to go upstairs for something so I hope my kids are in bed!" Immediately, there was a clatter of footsteps and by the time I got upstairs, both kids were in bed and sweetly pretending to be asleep.  Goodnight!

Outside!

We were able to play outside today! In the warm sunshine! Without multiple layers of clothing!
Spring is on the way... right?
