Love those Wildwoods!

After visiting Lucy the Elephant, we went to down Wildwood for the day. We spent the afternoon and evening at the boardwalk riding rides, playing games, eating boardwalk goodies, and taking in the sights.  The kids' favorite part of the boardwalk was Morey's Piers -

We rode the Ferris Wheel and got a sweeping view of Wildwood and the beach!

Not all the rides were a total success, however. Sean got upset on a 3-D pirate ride, but quickly recovered with the help of a cereal bar and the bumper cars. Clare did not like the Jack in the Box ride pictured below. She seemed excited about it and eager to try it since Sean was going, so on she went. She was so happy while the ride went up, up, up - but as soon as the ride started to go down and bounce, she was not happy!  The operator quickly let her off and the rest of the little riders - including Sean - had a ball :-)

No lasting harm was done and after a couple of more rides, we hit the boardwalk for dinner - boardwalk pizza and fries!  Yum!

Phabulous Phriday.

I was able to get a fair amount of work done yesterday considering this was going on right outside my building. My office was nice enough to reserve us a sweet space on the third floor to watch the parade and to have a pizza party. The crowd of co-workers at the window was about 6 people deep, so I ventured out to a balcony overlooking the lobby to catch the parade. Here are some pictures - not really the best quality, but you get the gist.

I swear, there were more cops than parade. Good day to take up bank robbing in Philly, I guess.

After about 10 minutes of waiting for the police processions to pass by, the actual parade started!

I'm pretty sure the man in black wearing sunglasses is Ryan Howard. If I'm right, he's the only player I was able to pick out - and I therefore deserve to be featured in the MMMMM! Hall of Fame.

So, that's the parade in a nutshell. I'm glad the Phillies fans are happy fans and that they had a great parade, but if the Eagles ever win a superbowl, I'm calling out sick. :-)
