One of the many highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico was a visit to the rainforest at El Yunque National Park! The kids were very excited to go hiking in the rainforest to go exploring and to discover creatures...
Our first stop was the Visitor's Center for lunch and to get a map.

Our next stop was La Coca Falls - Sean broke out the binoculars so he could start spotting creatures!
Sean, Clare, and Daddy hiked up the rocks for this awesome picture:
After we climbed down the rocks (and a group of people applauded Clare for doing a great job), we got back in the car to see Yokahu Tower.
We all climbed up the tower so we could see really great views of the rainforest, coast, and to try to spot some creatures.
After we climbed back down the tower, Sean DID spot a creature - all on his own!
And then after another short car ride, we got to the start of the Big Tree Trail so we could hike to La Mina Falls.

And Mommy brought extra clothes for the kids, so they could go wading in the little pools at the bottom of the falls:
After the kids had their fill of splashing around, they changed into dry clothes and we hiked back to the trailhead. Well, Sean, Daddy, and I hiked back while Clare napped in my arms the whole way back. Oh man.
After the hike, we got back in the car and headed back to where we were staying. But first, we stopped in Old San Juan for a yummy dinner...
...and a well-deserved mojito break for Mommy and Daddy :-)
